Working on Careem's payment and remittance platform that helps millions of people across the MENA region send money home to their families.
Backend Architecture
Built the transaction processing engine that handles thousands of remittances daily. Designed a robust state machine that manages everything from payment verification to final settlement across 40+ countries. The system integrates with multiple partner APIs and handles complex compliance checks while keeping transactions flowing smoothly.
Real-Time Exchange Rates
Created a dynamic pricing system that fetches and calculates exchange rates every few minutes. It's pretty cool - the system considers user segments, promotional campaigns, and market rates to give each customer the best deal possible.
iOS Development
Worked on the mobile experience using SwiftUI and UIKit. Focused on making money transfers feel seamless and trustworthy - implemented features like transaction tracking, recipient management, and real-time rate comparisons. The goal was to make sending money as simple as sending a text.

Jobs Platform Development
Worked on launching Dubizzle's job posting and hiring features. Built the full stack - from React frontends for job seekers and employers, to Node.js APIs handling applications, to PostgreSQL schemas storing everything efficiently. Added Redis caching to keep things fast even during high traffic.
Internal AI Assistant
Built an AI-powered knowledge base for employees. Think of it as 'ChatGPT for company docs'. Used RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) so the bot could answer questions like 'What's our leave policy?' by actually citing relevant documents. Implemented role-based access so people only see what they're supposed to see.
Infrastructure & Deployment
